Tuskegee Airmen welcome new commander

Airmen from the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing welcomed a new commander during a change-of-command ceremony in a hazy sandstorm on July 4.
A former 421st Fighter Squadron commander returned to take command of the 388th Fighter Wing in a ceremony Tuesday in Hangar 37.
The Obama administration finally agreed to Egypt's longstanding request to purchase 24 new Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter aircraft.
An Israeli F-16 downed a small Chinese Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in a training exercise on Tuesday.

Polish F-16s train in Greece

Five Polish Air Force F-16s departed for Greece from the Krzesiny base, near Poznan for a Squadron Exchange exercise.
On May 13 two F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots climbed into their jets and took to the skies over Northern Japan for a first of its kind training mission.
The 944th Fighter Wing commander logged his 3,000th F-16 flying hour May 20 in a basic fighter maneuver mission at Luke AFB.
On May 22, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Republic of Korea to support the upgrade of 35 F-16 Block 32 Aircraft.
The first four F-16 Block 52+ from the Peace Xenia IV program have arrived at Araxos AB, Greece around 16:00h local time with a small fanfare.

Hill AFB may lose some F-16s

Hill AFB could loose one-third of its F-16s after the air force announced it plans to remove 250 aircraft from its fleet in a accelerated retirement program according to the Standard Examiner.
Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany would lose 18 F-16s and possibly one of its three fighter squadrons in a plan the Air Force announced Tuesday to eliminate about 250 fighter jets from its inventory.
Flightglobal reports that the Israeli air force plans to upgrade its F-16C/D aircraft to the 'Barak 2020' upgrade package so this portion of fleet can serve till 2020.
U.S. and Republic of Korea Air Force personnel began the second 7th Air Force-designed Max Thunder bi-lateral air training exercise on May 7, 2009.

Aviano F-16 reaches 7,000 hrs

An Aviano F-16 Fighting Falcon #89-2057 reached a major aerial milestone on May 5 surpassing the 7,000 hours flight mark.
Pilots from the Wisconsin ANG's 115th FW in Madison, honed their air-to-air combat training skills along side their naval counterparts from the Strike Fighter Squadron 2 (VFA-2), NAS Lemoore, during a two-week training mission.
