F-16 Mishap News



A USAF Thunderbird F-16 made an emergency landing at Quad-City International Airport, near Moline around 14:22h local time with a minor engine malfunction according to the Quad-City Times.
An F-16 assigned to the 388th FW has crashed in a remote part of the Utah Test And Training Range on Monday night at 22:25h local time. The pilot did not survive.

HAF F-16C crashes - pilot ejects

A Hellenic Air Force F-16C block 50 from 347 Mira crashed today during a training flight, 5 miles East of the city of Ioannina at 10:33h local time. The jet was identifed as being #93-1059.
An F-16 fighter jet rolled off a runway during a landing at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport, Utah, on Monday afternoon while simulating an emergency landings.

TuAF F-16 crashes - Pilot lost

A TuAF F-16 crashed yesterday during a training flight in a forest area located in the M. Kemalpaşa district. Wreckage has been recovered and government officials have announced that the pilot was killed.

134 FS F-16 clips landing lights

A Vermont National Guard F-16 from 134 Fighter Squadron clipped a landing light on approach to Burlington International Airport said guard officials.
The South Korean Defence ministry announced that a KF-16D from Seosan AB crashed into the Yellow Sea on Tuesday around 12:20h local time, both pilots ejected safely.
An F-16 from Aviano AB had an in-flight engine emergency on the March 24th which resulted in the pilot ejecting the external fuel tanks. One of which landed on a local houses garage. No one was reported injured.

55 EFS F-16C Accident report released

Catastrophic engine failure caused an F-16C to crash on the flight line at Balad Air Base, Iraq, November 12, 2008, Air Combat Command officials announced today.
Three of the four Belgian F-16s stationed in Kandahar sustained heavy damage after their engines where FOD'ed by debris kicked up by a landing transport aircraft.
On February 17, a Polish F-16 almost fell from the skies, from an altitude of 10,000 meters during a training exercises conducted in the Krzesiny district, near Poznan, western Poland.
Two tyres on the F-16IN demonstrator jet blew out during landing after displaying on the final day of the Aero India International air show. No one was reported injured.
A court in Greece has convicted and sentenced a Turkish fighter pilot in absentia to four years in prison over a fatal jet crash over the Aegean Sea in 2006.

An F-16 from the 388th FW jettisoned its two external fuel tanks into the Great Salt Lake during a training exercise. Base personnel and park employees are assisting in the recovery clean up.
