Egyptian F-16 fighter jet crashed during training, pilot killed

An Egyptian Air Force pilot was killed when his F-16C block 40 (#9719) crashed during a training mission on January 14th near Rafah, North Sinai.
The pilot, Hisham Hasani, did unfortunately not survive the crash.
The case is being investigated and the reason for the crash is unknown at the moment.
The previous fatal crash from an EAF F-16 dated from January 28, 2016 when two-seater crashed during a military exercise at Al Ismailiyah Air Base in north-eastern Egypt, killing both crew members.
