New Markings for VMFA-121 [???]
Perhaps this is a display aircraft paint scheme for USofA or Overseas later?
New Markings for VMFA-121
May 2016 Air Forces Monthly Magazine
"Recently delivered US Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II 169165 ‘VK-01’ on approach to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma,
Arizona, on March 22. The aircraft is assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 (VMFA-121) ‘Green Knights’, but in
place of the usual Green Knight emblem on the fin, it wears a large ‘1’ surrounded by five stars in a diamond, the
significance of which is unconfirmed. Dylan Eklund [photo]

Great shot of it.
thanks.
It was painted up before Steel Knight in December.
Would be cool if somebody could snag some pics of CF-08. It's got new tail art too...

01 and 09 came through Nellis for a couple low approaches the other day. the flip side of 01 has the standard knight on it, but with a red eye. 09 had the knight on both sides
