156FG 198FS (156FW 198FS) Tail band differences?

Hi

Always liked the 156FG (FW) 198FS, but never figures out why some jets have yellow, red or blue band above and below "Puerto Rico" (and ahead of the flag)
Add to that, some jets had different colored stripes above and below "Puerto Rico" - anyone have more details?

(The Unit directory http://www.f-16.net/units_article50.html doesn't give details on the issue

Most squadrons are further broken down into 3 flights. The flights are usually colors, i.e. Red Flight, Blue Flight, and Yellow Flight.
