Nice!

Would have been good to have added a couple of Wedgies into that formation. The F-35 is more than a fighter, it is a forward sensor and tactical controller and its PR entrance here should have reflected that imo.

"...The two aircraft had been delivered to the RAAF at Luke in September and October and delivered to Williamtown via Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and RAAF Base Amberley, south-east of Brisbane. The pair were flown on the final leg of the journey by the commanding officer of No. 3 Squadron, Wing Commander Darren Clare and Squadron Leader Red Borrman. No. 3 Squadron is the first Australian F-35 squadron....

...“Today marks a very important day for the Australian Defence Force and particularly the Royal Australian Air Force,” Davies Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force, Air Marshal ‘Leo’ Davies] said. “Welcome to the latest chapter of the F-35 story, the most significant Royal Australian Air Force acquisition in our 97-year history," he continued. "The two aircraft that landed here today mark the latest step in an exciting journey for Air Force, which has been over 16 years in the making.” Davies also quoted his predecessor in the top role, Air Marshal Geoff Brown, when he said, “The Joint Strike Fighter replaces nothing, but changes everything; it requires a new way of thinking and a new way of operating.”…

...The two aircraft will now conduct a period of verification and validation testing to ensure they are compatible with local ICT systems and infrastructure – including Australia’s sovereign version of the F-35’s Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS). Together with further deliveries of aircraft, this work will conclude with the initial operational capability (IOC) milestone, scheduled at the end of 2020. Two more aircraft will be delivered to Williamtown in April 2019 and eight aircraft will have been delivered by the end of the year. The Hornet is due to be retired by the end of 2023...."

Does anyone know which route and stops did these F-35s take?
I'm asking this because it would be fun to try to recreate such flight on Prepar3d PC flight sim

This probably belongs on the Canadudes thread but I couldn't help but notice how cool it was to see the future of Australian airpower in the same photo as [sarc On] the ultra modern vision of the exciting future of Canadian airpower! [sarc Off]

The photo almost resembles an image that might exist some day as the Canadians send 4 aircraft to help the coalition bomb some target, but need to have two Aussies escort them in case of some day 2 popup threats.

(Aussie pilots thinking all the while, "why are we doing this? when we could just bomb the target ourselves? ... oh yeah coalition esprit de corps .. go Canadudes! you can do it! Rah Rah!")

I was taught a long time ago that if you had nothing nice to say you should shut your pie hole. Your never ending bashing of Canada and Canadian defense policy is getting incredibly tiresome. You of course have the right to lambaste politicians and policies all you like. However to infer that Canadians are incapable of deciding our own defense or that we are somehow deficient in our ability to defend ourselves is offensive and quite frankly down right childish. So this then begs the question what was it that we Canucks did to you that's got you riled up? Is it that our beer is better? Or that we can skate on ice and play a man's game? Whatever it is I dont really give a damn. Stop with the puerile commentary.
