Anyone remember this movie?
USN had Top Gun. USAF had Iron Eagle. US Army had Fire Birds. It made the AH-64 cool before the Gulf War and WAY WAY WAY before it started to turn jihad-Jerry into buckets of indistinguishable goop. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Was called "Wings of the Apache" over here - didn't think it was bad at the time.

Meh. It was OK. I was living in Tucson when they filmed it so seeing some of my hiking terrain on the big screen was neat. Even saw some of the secondary cast and crew around town. (no Sean Young sightings, dammit!)
And I've been doing fixed-wing flight simulation for almost 30 years (12 as a DoD contractor) and never ONCE did I ever see a crew get that excited to fly a sim. Must be an Army thing.

Sadly, that was one of the better Nick Cage movies.

Using Apaches to go after a helicopter air-to-air, as the main plot of the movie, is a bit much.
Einstein got it backward: one cannot prevent a war without preparing for it.
Uncertainty: Learn it, love it, live it.
