He was one of Bill Sweetman's buddies when Bill was at AW&ST.

So the UK will begin the process of disentanglement from the EU this autumn.... good for them.

Obviously Sol, doyene of foreign affairs knows that the F-35 in the UK is kaput

I don't know how the F-35 proocurement managed to survive successive poor Eurovision song contests & a poor showing in the Euro's against Slovakia!

Oh Soloman, you couldn't resist. Look before you leap. This reminds me (Canuck reference here) of unprofessional childish twitter analysts jumping the gun and announcing NHL player trades that are mere rumours as done deals and looking stupid. OMG, there's thousands of chips that need to fall here in economic issues & the ink is barely dry on the Brexit ballots & BOOM, the F-35 is doomed? This guy is truly remarkable

Technically at this point whoever replaces Cameron could literally ignore the results of the referendum since it's not legally binding.

But it'll be years before this is done either way, so I'm fairly sure that things won't change for a while for the F-35 or anything else.

Someone needs to ask Solomon if it's just one constant "death spiral" or multiple "death spirals" we are seeing for years on his blog

I'm dumbfounded that he just won't let it go. JSF won. It rules the galaxy...move along. Well, except for my country but 65 F-35As is a minor fart in the big scheme of things.

Soloman, just admit it & go slam the B-21 or something new FFS! It's over!

A thing that I noticed about the years of hysteria towards the F-35, perhaps not as noticeable in the USA was how much of it was coming from outlets either paid by the Kremlin & Tehran, or reliant & sympathetic towards the Kremlin & Tehran.

Once out there, the basement dwellers would do their thing and spread it like it was fact & Axe and Rogoway would spend another week under the impression that they are real journalists.

However, it's interesting to contrast it with the LCS programme.
Both are heavily criticised domestically, however the likes of Sputnik, Fars news agency, RT etc never really mention it.
It seems they are ok with the US throwing money at jet-powered ships that don't function and cost $600m a pop....
Probably because they know they are of no real threat.

However, the F-35 is a threat, so they have been more than happy to be part of the dis-information dissemination.

The impact of the Brexit vote on the F-35 might not come directly from the UK leaving the EU, but the likelihood of Scotland now leaving the UK. That would impact the overall defence posture of the UK and that is very uncertain territory!
