Hi Everyone,
Could someone explain the strap in procedure for the F-16 seat. I understand there are 4 fittings connected to the PCU-16 torso harness. The top two are for the parachute risers, and there are two "D" rings to connect to the survival pack. Is there a lap belt that is also fastened? I have seen reference to a lap belt in some descriptions that I have seen, but don't quite understand how it works, or if it is attached to the torso harness. Any pictures that could be posted showing the connections to the torso harness, and the lap belt (if there is one) would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Ron

2 clicks into the seat, 2 clicks on the shoulders into the parachute
one click across the lap for the seat belt (totally seperate from any ejection process) jhmcs gets routed underneath the shoulder strap but above the harness...and boom! you are ready to kill!

1. Seat visual inspection - seat safe first, general condition, pigtail, pitot tubes, thermal battery, beacon switch, mode selector, etc
2. Get in
3. Survival kit buckles - attach to D-rings on harness at left and right hip
4. Seat belt - buckle and snug
5. Anti-G suit hose attach
6. Risers attach into Frost/Koch 2 fittings as equipped
7. Helmet/mask - donn and secure.
8. JHMCS if so equipped
9. CRU-120 - connect acft supply hose, emer O2 supply, and mask hose. Connect comm connector.

Here's a pic of the ACES II - seat belt draped forward across seat cushion.
