LRIP-9 plan to consist of 64 aircraft (or 74...)

Production is clearly planned to ramp up! Found this: the JPO plans to award LM with multiple contracts for 64 aircraft. That will be 45 CTOL, 13 STOVL and 6 CV. My information is that the US part will consist of 44 aircraft (32 F-35A and 12 F-35B and C), so that means a total of 20 international orders. A few are already known: 3 F-35A and one F-35B for Italy, 6(?) for Norway. So the rest wil be probably for the UK, Japan and Israel. Anyone more details??? Joost

Edit: since 6 CV are included, that means 6 Marines Bs, so the additonal 7 Bs are 6 for UK and 1 for Italy.

So international orders should include:
1 STOVL Italy
3 CTOL Italy
6 STOVL UK
plus ten more

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) intends to award multiple contract actions to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Fort Worth, TX for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Lot 9 requirements. The proposed contract actions will provide for forty-five (45) Conventional Take-Off and Landing (CTOL) aircraft, thirteen (13) Short Take-Off Vertical Landing (STOVL) aircraft, and six (6) Carrier Variant (CV) aircraft (or such other quantities as may be authorized and appropriated by the U.S. Congress or authorized by non-U.S. DoD Participants); as well as long lead-time materials; associated sustainment support including spares, support equipment, non-recurring autonomic logistics sustainment activities, training, Autonomic Logistics Information Systems (ALIS) hardware, depot activation, Performance Based Logistics (PBL) operations, and maintenance for all CTOL, STOVL, and CV aircraft; Ancillary Mission Equipment (AME); Production Non-Recurring (PNR) activities to support the F-35 production ramp rate including tooling, test equipment, production aids, production equipment, and support labor; technical financial and administrative data; US Reprogramming Laboratory (USRL) and Partner Reprogramming Laboratory (PRL); and proposal preparation. In addition, there will be ordering line items to allow for additional supplies and services, including but not limited to Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) procurements, retrofit efforts required to update accepted aircraft to newer configurations, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) maintenance. The proposed contract actions are for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Lockheed Martin Corporation under authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement. All responses received by the Government thirty days after date of publications of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete these proposed contract actions based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Maybe this clears things up, but correct me if I am wrong. According to this presentation, there should be more F-35s in LRIP-9. But there is apparently a distinction between FMS and international orders (see page 9). If I see the scale correct, then it occurs to me that LRIP-9 will consist of 20 international and 10 FMS orders. So probably LRIP-9 will be even 74 aircraft.

International:
4 Italy (3 A and 1 B)
6 UK (6 B)
6 Norwegian (6 A)
That leaves 4 aircraft for others which will probably be Turkey (2 plus the additional purchase of 2)

FMS:
2 Japan (according to article of former MoD or so, the first ten a/c are in batches of 4-2-4
8 Israel (all 19 aircraft should have been delivered in LRIP-8, 9 and 10)
