Current or Favourite assignmentThe ANG-Air National Guard is a family organization. We were a close knit group spending several years together. As a full-time technician, investing in quality training with traditional guardsmen and women payed great dividends. We had a great team. Especially when 9-11-01 happened, traditional folks called in on Sept 11,2001 and wanted to know when they could be activated to defend America. I shared my talents with others and I learned from the strengths of others around me. We had a fun-hard working relationship.DeploymentsCoronet Nighthawk Howard AFB Panama,Combat Archer Tyndall AFB FL, Block 25 Conversion Kansas ANG Witchita KS & Indiana ANG Fort Wayne IN,CFB Greenwood Nova Scotia ORI, Air To Grnd Conversion AZANG Tuscon IAP AZ,Operation Snowbird DMAFB AZ, Southern Watch PSAB Saudi Arabia ,Loudon NH NASCAR Fly-bys PEASE ANGB 157ARW Dover NH, Operation Noble Eagle(BTV),Operation Noble Eagle Tyndall AFB,Operation Noble Eagle Shaw AFB,and Operation Iraqi Freedom Al Udeid AB Qatar |

In Phase Inspection. Ventral Fin to Pnl 4301/4302 attachment required constant attention.Got to interact a lot with the specialists. Provided a quality Phase product for the Flightline. During the 1994 Block 25 Conversion,I was privileged to use my Phase Inspection knowledge on the Acceptance Inspection team at Kansas Air Guard(McConnell) and at Indiana Air Guard(FT Wayne). We were allowed to put Nose Art on the F-16. The pilot and I enlisted Tim French,a Vermonter, also an Art major from Bob Jones University to create "Bird Of Prey" nose art for 83-1150. | ||||||

Enjoyed learning about the Arabic/Muslim culture. Working with the UAE Air Force. I was humored by the lazy attitude of some enlisted Emirates ,have a great respect for the many UAE pilots I met from the different Emirates and became very familiar with conformal fuel tank R&I due to maintenance required on the airframe under the tanks. Enjoyed getting to know the Emirate maintenance personnel. My only F-16 injury was on my left arm when I bumped the fwd fin on the French Hakeem missle during launch. The Block 60 aircraft is a great aircraft. |
