I was assigned to Misawa AB from April-02 through Nov-07. I PCS'd once during my career and don't regret staying at Misawa for so long before PCSing to Creech AFB. I've made a lot of friends, acquaintances and lasting memories in 5 1/2 years at Misawa. I could complain all day about the LOWS of Misawa's flightline but it really is only as bad as you make it regardless how tough or unresponsive supervision is. It's like that anywhere you go. Now I'm sitting on my thumb at Creech AFB, NV where Crew Chiefs turn into quasi-nonners. I worked on the MQ-1 for a few months before transfering to the MQ-9 where I gained no expertise as the flight's training monitor. I'll be leaving the Air Force for good (though no fault of my own) in August 08. Thanks for the friends, laughter and memories.

Current or Favourite assignment

Current assignment: Creech AFB Nov 2007- Aug 2008

Deployments

TDY-Nellis AFB Red Flag January 2007
Deployed-Balad AB, Iraq June-October 2007

The first TDY, and therefor the best TDY I had was to Red Flag 01-07. Anybody who was there with me cant forget the doped up crack head who kicked in my hotel door and went on a drug fueled rampage about his girlfriend being with another guy. Needless to say this 125lb body of mine was no match for an unpredictable druggie. So I did what I thought was the best thing to do and stuck my head in the sand. He eventually left but returned again to use my phone, but I was using it to call the lobby about the intruder.

My Jets & Assignments

91400 [Detailed history of this F-16]

Current: 91400   USAF 13 FS F-16C Block 50 [ act]
91-0400, or four hunnie as some call it, was my pride and joy in the 13th. This jet made a comeback after I became the DCC in 2005 and had it's MC rate above 90% for several months before it went to phase and the jackals got hold of it. Even after phase did their thing, 400 went on to become one of the best bomb droppers in OIF during the 8 months it was there.
92886 [Detailed history of this F-16]
Unit 13th Fighter Squadron "Panthers" [Unit History]
Period 2002 - 2002
Current: 92886   USAF 14 FS F-16C Block 50 [ w/o]
I was the ADCC on this aircraft for 8 months before it deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia for OSW. She had a tendency to lay eggs and wasn't worth the trouble most of the time but she held up well during deployments. 886 returned to Misawa after OSW and was assigned to the 14th FS and became a PACAF Demo bird soon after. If I remember right, there is an airbrush painting of "April's Fool" inside the comm door.
Other aircraft/assignments I was assigned to Phase after the FS/AMXS re-org. I spent over 3 years there before returing to the 13th in 2005
