Started at 3246 OMS at Eglin AFB in 1985 and was assigned as assistant crew dog to 83-1123. When "JAFO" (the dedicated crew chief" retired, 83-1123 became my first jet as a SRA. My assistant was A1C Cindy Pratt. 123 was the primary "flutter" test jet and she was the first to test fire the 30mm centerline gun pod. A good jet when I had her. Always clean, Armor all on the tires, highly polished pitot tube, JFS door and tubing. I wouldn't let anybody run her engine but me. Still my favorite jet!!! Went to the 51st AGS Osan AB, Korea in 1989 and was an assistant on A/C 87-0318. Didn't get to do too much there. Went to 2952 CLSS Hill AFB, Utah from 1990 to 1994. Worked depot level maintenance and was deployed to "Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Hill was a good assignment. Went to the 80 F/S Kunsan AB, Korea in 1994 and that's when I crewed 86-0323. Another good jet!!!!. Cleanest canopy and HUD in the fleet (pilots always told me so). I got my first and only incentive ride there. The best time I've ever had (even though I lost my cookies). Got off active duty after that assignment and joined the 457th F/S at Carswell AFB, Texas. Been on several TDY's and deployed in support of Operation Deny Flight at Insurlik AB, Turkey and Operation Iraqi Freedom (twice).
Current or Favourite assignment
Had a blast at Kunsan and met some wonderful people.
