Crashed into a farm house on a tea plantation in the county Taitung at Chinchin Mountains, Taimali. The crew were on a training mission, and were both killed. The pilot was Major Wei-Kang Dai and the back seater was Lieutenant Colonel Chia-Kun Chang.

Crashed in the Taiwan Strait about 55 kilometres west of Huayu islet at Ma-Kung. The accident happened at 14:30 hours while conducting tactical manoeuvre training. Ships and helicopters were used to find the crew, Major Chin-Sung Wen and a student Captain Chia-Cheng Chan. But the search was hampered by strong winds and waves and was in vain. The loss was Taiwan's first with the F-16. Hence all Taiwan F-16's were grounded. F-16B's started flying again on March 25 while F-16A's flew again on March 26.

The aircraft took off from Chia Yi AB on 9:30h for a training mission with Lt. Col. Liu and Capt. Qiu on board. Due to a failure of an electric generator they had to make an emergency landing at Ma Gong airport at 9:57h, both staying unharmed.
31 Aug 2021 [ act] 6829 93- 0850 F-16B Block 72 V Details
The aircraft overran the runway at Ping Tung North AB at 6:32 local. Both pilots didn't eject and escaped unharmed.
