Aviator Extraordinaire I knew a Pilot once, his senses sharp and keen, Every time he went aloft he always did it clean, Around the world, night and day this warrior could be seen, Flying the skies for freedom's cause, Truly living the dream When duty called and asked his hand, he gave it without fee; In stormy weather and sunny days, his outlook would always be, A shining light, a smile to share, for all the world to see, For he knew he was a shining star, An Aviator was he. If time on Earth is measured by the love you share with friends, Then Brian lived a thousand years, His memory without end. I'm proud to say I flew his wing, above the clouds and sky, Those memories I will keep with me- Until again we fly. SR |

Brian,
Thank you for the memories, service, friendship. I was not fortunate enough to be his Wing-man in the air, but was fortunate enough to have his back on the soccer field in Montgomery AL.

I miss the way he made me laugh - even about the strangest things. He let me fly his vintage planes and amazed me that he flew some of the most expensive USAF jets...not a day a week a minute goes by that I don't think about Brian and the fact I hung up with him 10 mins prior to the accident - telling him I would call him right back...

As the 14th came and went and saddness fell upon his many friends, I remembered this poem. I posted a word or two from it so the world would see that Major Brian Wolf is still a friend to me.

Missing him still, and doubt there is not another out there quite like him.
And wow, I just read that you were speaking with him moments before the accident. I knew he had been on the phone with his brother, but that was all.
I'd spent the weekend with him in Memphis a couple weekends before. He was on standby for a flight at FEDEX that weekend and was so excited.. wanted to fly around the world..
Thanks all for sharing
Bobbie

Brian and I both enlisted around the same time and worked in ops. We both got our commission within a yr of each other. i miss him dearly and just shared a couple of his stories with some co-workers. We went canoeing in our younger days and he asked if he could steer. I didn't realize he was not an experienced canoe driver. he steered us down a 4 ft drop and we both were dumped. i hit the boulder knees first and shortly after i hear him scream "MOVE". He hits same boulder knees first. we do a self assessment and i end up with a 4 inch gash across my left knee cap. I cherish that scar as if it was a famous tattoo. When I think back about Brian, I always look at my scar and laugh about the time he learned how to steer a canoe.
