A Great Day To Fly!
Col (Ret) Paul "Sticky" Strickland, Jan 19, 2007 - 10:24 PM

Jorma, a find young man- sharp young fighter pilot. I flew at Hill AFB in the 4th FS with Jorma, who everytime he stepped to the jet told the crew chief:"It's a great day to fly!!" As a Southwest Airline pilot, and Slot for the Patriots Demo Team, each time I fly, or announce to passengers, I convey in memory of Jorma; "It's always...a GREAT day to fly!"

Potentially related
My name: Jorma Huhtala, Helsinki, Finland, Jan 29, 2007 - 07:43 AM

I would like to find out if 1st Lieutenant Jorma D. Huhtala was somehow related to me. His mother is Marie Therese Huhtala, the Ambassador to Malaysia.

My father Aimo Huhtala served Finnish Air Forces and was retired as Colonel in 1969. We all were born in Kauhava, Finland. Colonel Huhtala participated in World War II as Lieutenant against Russia in 1942-1944. He was a bombarder (Bristol Blenheim). I'm looking forward to your friendly answer. With best

regards. Jorma Huhtala

Thank you Jorma for your service and for your sacrifice. Your fiance, Tracy, spoke nothing but loving, good thoughts about you. I know you are missed by all of your family and friends. God bless and God speed!

Hooch!
Ripley, Oct 19, 2007 - 08:25 PM

Hooch flew my line the day he died as I was on leave. I will never forget October 25th. Jorma and I went through IFF,RTU, and MQT together. I had no better friend than him. My family and I miss him dearly.
