I was an SP at Hahn when Lt Wallis crashed. I was walking down the street to check my mail and my Flight Chief told me to go get my M-16 and get on a helicopter and I deployed to the crash site and secured it. I aided in the recovery of his body. Although I didn't know him personally, he was a brother in arms and he will not be forgotten. I think of all the things I did in the AF, aiding in the recovery of his remains, it was the most humbling thing I did and the sadest.

I went through pilottraining at Vance AFB class 8202 together with Steven. He was the only one assigned to the F-16 in our class. He was always positive and friendly taking good care of his fellow classmates. I was very saddened to hear abort his accident. The crash happened a long time ago, but just now I'm reading details on it on the net.
I will always remember Steven.
