    The loadout is not unusual, the airdraft is one that wasstatoned at Torrejon AB Spain, the pic was taken before the AIM-120 went into service.

    I agree with the other comment made about this picture. It's not always true that the AIM-120 is carried on the wingtip.I have seen F-16's with AIM-120's carried on one of the wing pylons.

    Yeah, it looks like it's a Desert Storm era picture, the AIM-120 wasn't in service until the end of the war and only on F-15s, so it's not unusual considering when the pic was taken.

    the AIM-120 was in service during Desert Storm. They were removed from flight on some configurations due to added turbulance.
