USAF F-16B block 5 #78-0078 from detachment 16 is parked with opened canopy on the tarmac in the spring of 1979. The aircraft has the distinct pleasure of being the first to be written-off in a crash. A Belgian MOT&E pilot was at the controls at the time. It crashed on August 9th, 1979. Note the MOT&E badge on the main landing gear door. [Er-Ning Chang collection]
