This is not HUD imagery, it is from a LANTIRN Targeting Pod. This is the recorded sensor image displayed on the MFD, you can see TGP is the selected mode (OSB 17). The sensor head is swiveled to the right for this shot. If it was HUD imagery there would be a mid-air about 0.5 seconds after this picture. -

The Harrier being refueled is not an AV-8B (no bubble canopy) The RAF GR.3 Harrier has the longer nose. Yea, I know this is an F-16 site but let's get it right. -

Is this view from the LANTIRN indicating the Weapon is "HOT". Nice Gas Pump shot, if so... -

The Harrier is indeed an AV-8B, but the B-Plus with the longer radar nose. -

The F-16 in formation is from the Air Force Reserve unit out of Fort Worth, Texas, 301st. -

"WHOT" indicates "white hot" imagery. heat sources appear as white values, as opposed to "black hot" (looks more like a photo negative). just another tool to make the image cleaner. -

I believe this would be an image from a Litening targeting pod not a Lantirn. Since almost all ANG and AFRC F-16 units use Litening now. -

The photo is not from a HUD, but rather from a targeting pod. --just helpin a brother out. :-) -
TGP
It is indeed a TGP (targeting pod) but it is a Lightning. It is in CCD mode which LANTIRN doesn't have. (You can see CCD on the left hand side of the screen.) What that means is that WHOT or BHOT on the right side doesn't matter since it is not in FLIR. When you swap back to FLIR THEN it will be in the WHOT mode.
