Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16s

This odd formation occurred on October 3rd, 1999. The world's only airworthy Douglas DC-2 (the Dutch 'Uiver') was enroute to Leeuwarden AB on the promotional and fundraising tour for the National Aviation Museum Aviodrome-Schiphol. As one of the two tour managers, I was on board this 1935 vintage airliner our museum had brought back on its own power from South Carolina. Weather was really bad, we were welcomed by three twin tub Vipers from 323 sqn. One of them was the camera bird with the official RNlAF photographer Erik Vorstenbosch in the backseat.
