    F-16A, 81-0723

I was the Crew Chief of 81-0723 at Hahn Air Base, in the former West Germany, from 1984 until we upgraded to block 20 aircraft and many of the Hahn birds went to the Guard to fulfill the ADF mission in the US in 1985. Prior to departing W. Germany, this aircraft was used in Green Flag at Nellis and also participated on alert at hahn to fulfill our commitment to NATO. This aircraft also participated in breaking a USAFE surge record when the 496TFS of the 50th TFW flew 144 sorties with 18 aircraft and 35 pilots in about 12 hours in Oct 1985. Prior to this aircraft going to South Dakota, I did find a picture of this aircraft in flight with the Montana Air National Guard. Small world but it was a great pleasure to maintain and has a great history.
