CPU Tech wins contract for advanced F-16 computer

August 28, 2003 (by Stefaan Vanhastel) - CPU Technology Inc. has won a contract to develop prototype units of a new computer system for use in F-16s. The contract covers the F- 16's central air data computer, or CADC.
Under the contract, CPU Tech will produce the internal electronics for the new CADC, using CPU Tech's commercial system-on-a-chip technology. The new CADC will be housed in the original chassis.

The system-on-a-chip (SoC) technology will reduce the maintenance costs and increase the reliability of the air data computer.
