F-16 training likely to cease at Melbourne, Fla.

August 21, 2003 (by Stefaan Vanhastel) - AeroGroup Inc., a commercial company providing flight training to Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16 pilots, appears to be on its way out of Melbourne International Airport, Fla.
The company's departure would be a major victory for many South Brevard County residents trying to get the company to move away because of noise and safety concerns.

AeroGroup President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Daniels said the company has no plans to host another training session in Melbourne, as previously planned. He also said it's evident the company will have to leave Melbourne because of the community opposition.

AeroGroup will move to another location. Twelve worker were laid off because they would not relocate with the company. The Royal Netherlands Air Force is evaluating other sites for its training.
