Greece signs for advanced self-protection suite

The Greek Defense Ministry has completed a deal with Raytheon for the supply of an advanced self-protection integrated suite (ASPIS II) for the F-16 block 52+ aircraft. The contract has a value of $242 million contract.
Raytheon said Greece will receive an enhanced version of the original self-protection suite delivered in the late 1990s for its F-16s. Executives said the contract is Raytheon's largest for electronic warfare systems.
Executives said the contract is expected to begin over the next three months. The systems will be produced in the United States.
Greece has ordered 60 F-16s from Lockheed Martin, with the first aircraft expected to arrive in another year.
