Next Wednesday, September 10th, the first four of a total of sixteen F-16 fighters will be transfered to the Royal Jordanian Air Force. The deal was signed in April of 2006 and originally compromised 14 F-16s from Belgium
and 8 F-16s from the Netherlands
. It now seems that another two B-models are transfered from the Belgian inventory.
Jordanian pilots and ground crew have been training with the Belgian Air Force F-16 OCU unit for some time now. All 10 pilots have been retrained and are ready to make the first transfer flights to Moualak Salti AFB
, about 90 miles east of the capital Amman.
