Young Greek F-16 pilot makes emergency landing at Lemnos

Yesterday, a young Greek Viper pilot with only 130 flying hours in the F-16 made a successful dead stick landing at the Lemnos Island International Airport at 11:00.
A pair of Greek F-16s was returning from a mission when, on their way to the Aghialos base in Volos, one of the jets experienced a serious engine problem.
The F-16 piloted by a 26-year-old Cadet, seemed to have a problem in the fuel system - the relative indicator suddenly dropped. The flight plan was changed immediately and the two aircraft approached for a landing at Lemnos Island International Airport.
Ten miles out of the airport, the F-16 engine suddenly shut down. The pilot was forced to an emergency landing in adverse conditions, and altough he had only 130 flying hours on the F-16, he successfully made it.
The second F-16 landed on the auxiliary landing strip.
