New Dutch demo F-16

April 1, 2005 (by Bjorn Claes) - Yesterday the Royal Netherlands Air Force presented its newly painted demo jet to the general public. F-16AM #J-055 has received a stunning new paint job replacing the already marvelous paint job on the former Dutch demo F-16 #J-016.

With the transition of the demo task from Leeuwarden AB (322 & 323 sqns) to Volkel AB (306, 311 & 312 sqns) there was also a need for a newly painted demo F-16.

After flying for four years with the so-called 'Silver' F-16, a new team, a new unit, a new F-16 and a new paintjob was designed to forfill the Dutch demo task in the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The new scheme has retained a lot of the elements from the 'Siver' scheme. This F-16 (#J-055) is also entirely painted with an overal black finishing combined with a grey back piece. Orange lines make the finishing touch.

Pilot Gert-Jan 'Goofy' Vooren will fly the display aircraft this season on a lot of occasions inside Europe starting on May 15th, 2005 at Salamanca-Matacan in Spain.
