Ohio Air National Guard participates at Red Flag

November 10, 2004 (by Stinger) - Members of the 180th ANG Fighter Wing recently participated in the "Red Flag" 05-1.2 exercise held at Nellis AFB, Nevada from October 24th through November 5th.
Pilots from the 112th Fighter Squadron participated in the USAF Weapons Instructor Course and dropped live "heavies" during this intense two week training period.

F-16 units from Duluth, Minnesota, and Shaw AFB, South Carolina also participated.

The 180th Fighter Wing and its subordinate unit, the 112th Fighter Squadron are equipped with F-16 "Fighter Falcon". In 1996, 1998, and 1999 the 180th Fighter Wing enforced the Northern no-fly zone over Iraq in Operations Provide Comfort and Operation Northern Watch
