Lockheed Martin test pilot Bill Gigliotti flew the second F-35A for Australia (RAAF serial #A35-002, company number AU-02) on its first flight on October 1st, 2014 from NAS Fort Worth. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be assigned initially to Luke AFB where it will be used to train F-35 pilots for Australia and other international partner countries for the F-35 program. The first F-35 for the RAAF was flown for the first time from the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth on September 29th, 2014. Lockheed Martin F-35 Chief Test Pilot Alan Norman put the aircraft through a series of functional checks during the sortie that lasted two hours. The aircraft, (RAAF serial number #A35-001, company number AU-01) is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be assigned to Luke AFB. [Photo by Liz Kaszynski]
