A pilot with the Royal Australian Air Force made history May 14, by flying the first RAAF F-35A Lightning II sortie at Luke Air Force Base.

During March 2017, took a long ferry flight along with F-35A #A35-002 from Luke AFB, Arizona to participate in Australian Avalon Airshow just outside of Melbourne. The show ran from March 3 to March 5th. This aircraft flew in the display and A35-002, the spare, was on static display. After the show, returned to the United States.
