
The first F-35 for the RAAF was flown for the first time from the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth on September 29th, 2014. Lockheed Martin F-35 Chief Test Pilot Alan Norman put the aircraft through a series of functional checks during the sortie that lasted two hours. The aircraft, (RAAF serial number #A35-001, company number AU-01) is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be assigned to Luke AFB. [Photo by Liz Kaszynski]

Construction of major components began on October 8th, 2013. Rolled out on July 24th, 2014 at Fort Worth, Texas along with AU-2. First flight on September 29th, 2014.
