Greek F-16C Block 52+ crashes into sea, pilot rescued

A Hellenic Air Force F-16 that took off from Larissa AB crashed near the island of Psathoura at 13:33h today during a routine training flight.
A Super Puma helicopter took off from Lemnos airbase to locate the missing pilot.
The F-16 block 52+ single-seater (#99-1528) belongs to the 337 Squadron, 110 Fighter Wing (FM) crashed in the sea near Psathoura, a Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea.
A Super Puma helicopter from the 130th Battle Group at Lemnos airbase was dispatched to the area to rescue the pilot. The pilot managed to safely eject and has been found alive and well.
