On Saturday at 16.45h, two USAF F-16s made an emergency landing at Fukuoka AP, Japan due to engine trouble.
About 13 minutes after the pilot requested the air traffic controller for an emergency landing, the block 40 jet (#89-2042) safely touched down at Fukuoka AP (16.45h) followed by his wingman (#88-0544) who landed six minutes later (16.51h).
The F-16s were on their way from Hickam AFB, Hawaii, USA, to the 36th FS at Osan AB, South Korea, when the engine output from one of the F-16s dropped by half.
USAF mechanics are scheduled to come over on Monday from Misawa AB, Aomori Prefecture.
