Currently assigned to the 315th AMXS in Charleston, SC working on the C-17 Globemaster. I am in the process of returning to my original unit, the 158th FW out of Burlington, Vermont. I will be assigned to the Alert Detachment stationed at Langley, Virginia where I will be sitting Alert.
Current or Favourite assignmentAs of this writing the 158th has the premiere Alert Detachment in the country. After 9/11 we flew more than 122 straight days over Ground Zero, setting a record in the process. We also were the first Air National Guard unit to receive an Outstanding in an O.R.I. in 1997.DeploymentsIn my 18 year career I never really saw that much "real world" action unless, of course, you want to count Panama. But, since the hostilities were pretty much over, I really don't count that one. In 2006 I spent 5 months in Balad, the garden spot of Iraq. While there working with 2 other units (New Jersey and Indiana National Guards) I received a Superior Performer award from each. It was quite an honor! |
