OAT: Outside Air Temperature
OBOGS: On-Board Oxygen Generating System
OCA: Offensive counterair.
OCP: Over Current Protection
Off (Direction): Informative call indicating attack is terminated and maneuvering to the indicated direction.
Off-Station: Not in position.
Offensive Maneuvering: Maneuvers against an opponent to achieve weapons parameters.g
Offset (Direction): Informative call indicating maneuver in a specified direction with reference to the target.
OHEAT: Overheat
On-Station: In position, ready for mission employment.
OP: Operational or Optimum
Opportunity to excel: A disagreeable job without the time or resources to properly complete.
Ops Check: Periodic check of aircraft systems performed by the aircrew (including fuel) for safety of flight.
OPT: Optional
Optimum Turn: A turn during which energy remains constant and turn rate is maximized.
ORE: Operational Readiness Exercise
Overshoot: Flight Path Overshoot - Attacking aircraft is forced to the outside of his intended victim's flight path while attempting to achieve a shot. In a severe overshoot, the attacker's flight path carries him forward of the defender's 3-9 line and roles can be reversed.
OVRD: Override
OXY: Oxygen
