I caught this over at BaseOps
http://www.dynamictruth.com/ubb/ultimat ... 04737.html
Oh man...
And I thought those Blue Tiger Stripe BDUs were bad when they tried to press them on -_-
Anyone thinking BATTLESTAR GALACTICA? If they make me wear those to work after I commission I will refuse to respond to any name other than Starbucks! Hehe, just kidding.... I dont want to egg them on in to designing polyester flight suits with purple glitter in them!

They dont have any pictures of any new head gear. I will be extremely dissapointed if they replace the prop and wings cap. It's sort of a flyer's tradition, ya know? Aside that they will at least have to change the color of it.
The pockets also give the illusion of breast on the males, and the lapels are covering ribons, nametags, etc...
What a bunch of carp. There is no way those will stick. I can't see them allowing the uniforms to cover up ribbons and junk. Far too many 4 stars are too eager to show off how many rainbows they have on their chest.

That may be the case, but General Moseley has 'adopted' my Academy class ('09!) and has come to the hill to speak to us a couple times and one time he mentioned how he wanted to change our "bus driver uniforms." I guess this is how he wants to do it.

Bus driver uniforms??? Everybody saiD they look like airline pilot uniforms when they changed them back in the mis 90's. I am SO SICK of these chiefs of staff trying to leave their mark by changing the uniforms. Shenseki did it with the Army beret and now others are trying to follow. There are far more problems to solve than changing the dad gum uniform!
WTF Over!

There are better pictures availavle on the Air Force home page. You can get them here: http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123020472
They look much better in an actual setting with proper lighting. At least they don't look black this time around.
I'm not so sure I like the Billy Mitchel style uniform, well not unless I get to wear the Leather Sash (belt?) over my shoulder like they did in the good old days. The other issue I have with that particular one is that it too closely resembels the Marine Corps' uniform for my tastes. Granted this is not necessarily a bad thing (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery afterall), but if we are going for a distinctive look, we need something else.
The Hap Arnold style is fine with me, but only if they trim down those lapels. I may be too young to have survived the Era Of Giant Lapels (60's and 70s) but that particular cut strikes me as ridiculous. Besides, if they go with that cut, whats the point of wearing your ribbind and name tag, if more than half of each will be covered?
In both cases, I'm not a big fan of the proposed belt. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the idea of a belt on the coat, but this version is just too.... plain looking. Almost as if its not even there.
In either case, I think with some minor changes I think they could be quite excellent.

Oh God, we have regressed back to the early 1900's in the USAF - Is that photo Mrs Billy Mitchell, sure looks like the uniform he wore in those old photos...damn, we cant a bit more creative than this...damn (ugly is you ask me, big time ugly). I have seen better heads on lettuce
More than likely have "been there and done that at some point", it sure keeps you young if done correctly
