Well... I saw an F-35A taking off on a wet runway... didn't really consider it was Alaska... which we all know is cold, Cold, COLD!!! So... they musta salted the sh*t outta that runway... hence all cold weather F-35's are going to rot away within two years from roadway (runway) salt exposure...

As a reminder Eielson is at 65 degrees north (64d39m).
Yellowknife NW is only 63 degrees and it is far north of BC, Alberta, and Saskatchwan.
Rankin Inlet Nunavut is about 63 and it's far above Manitoba and Ontario.
Iqaluit is way above anywhere in Quebec and its almost 64 degrees.
ALL south of Eielson AK.

So where again are all these Canadian bases that are frozen in the Arctic - "south of Eielson."
Hmmmm ... maybe if they buy F-35's they might melt in the tropical warm Canadian Acrtic weather .....
There could be that.

Oh btw, Orland Norway is almost 65 degrees and detachments at Bodo would be above 67 degrees North so they should be safe from melting.

Have to love those Canadian concerns about their "cold weather" - NOT!
