Greek F-16D from 343 Sqn crashes South of Crete.

An F-16D block 52+ from 343M crashed during a training flight on December 4th, 2014 at 13.42h local time, 14 nautical miles north of the island of Gavdos. Both crew members, successful ejected.
An Agusta-Bell 205 rescue helicopter arrived on scene at 14.34h and recovered both crew and flew them back to base Soúda Air Base.
The causes of the accident is under investigated, but is currently believed to be mechanical related.

Four years ago, in a similar incident in the same sea area, two Greek Air Force pilots lost their lives and a third one was injured when two F-16 jets collided mid-air.
