Hahn 496 "Worlds Finest" 81-83 went to GD and picked up 80-0620. Luke 311 Sidewinders 83-85 B model 78-0101 Luke set up 312 Scorpions F-16D #1 83-0175 first enlisted to fly in it. Was booked to Ramstein but was diverted to F-15s @ Bitburg. Osan 2005-2006 Superintendent QA 36 FS Fiends Mtn Home current 389 AMU NCOIC Current or Favourite assignmentConverted 496 from F-4E to F-16.Went to factory (18 years old) to pick up my jet because I was one of only two people qualified. Gary Imhoff was the other guy... I bet a few of the old NCOs were chapped that a snot nose kid that hadn't been on station long got a great trip home/tour of GD plant. DeploymentsI was on alert with F-4s in Turkey before the F-16 came to Hahn.I've supported OIF/OSW 5 times with F-15s. Had an excellet trip to Bagram Afghanistan with the A-10s from Pope. |

I think we may have met at Hahn, not sure but your name rings a bell with me. In any event, nice to see another person here close to my era.
Welcome - Tom Wharton

Name sounds familiar to me.
Not sure about that nickname though...
Pretty cool site.
I ran out of time and plan on coming back and adding more information.
Guy
The nickname was something I was given while on the T-Birds....long story (surrounding women). I look forward to reading more about your career and assignments, I bet we met once or twice. Did you deploy with us to Ramstein (back in late 82) or again (same location) when the runway was shut down for repairs / overhauls, long deployment while the runway had those heated cables installed for all weather flying in winter.
I remember we got kicked out of the club so many times for partying hard, dancing and drinking but we all found a way to get to work on time and still make the flying schedule. Crazy stuff...anyway, all the best to you

175 was my first launch and recovery after the A-7
retirement. We video taped it for posterity sake.
She was flown to Terre Haute (181st FW) to ferry another jet back to Toledo.

It's me...
I've been wondering where you went.
I'm out here in Idaho until Jan 2011 unless the the AF has other plans.
Look me up if you get out this way.

Just got here (Apr 09) to Balad for a six-month stint. Lots of F-16's doing great things here in the AOR. I will have lees than a year until I hit 30 when I get back to Mtn Goat. Then it's off to the Great State of AK.

Hi!
I have been searching for aircraft 80620, because in our office we have an image lying around and I was curious what could I find about it. It's awesome to have all this info around, and exciting to see that it was your first bird :)
