1st base was TJ outside Madrid, Spain. Only crewed 87-0248, which was my favorite of all. The base was selected to close, so I was assigned to the 307th Stingers at Homestead AFB, Florida. I was the 1st airman in the newly reactivated squadron. Hence, I got all the bad detail jobs. I ended up crewing 89-2054 which ended up being the sq jet. I had a good time with that plane. It saw a couple displays at airshows that I got to attend. Seeing the faces on the kids was the best as they came up to the plane. I had the opportunity to attend Maple Flag with this group. We had a great TDY. Hurricane Andrew ended my fun and sent me to Moody AFB, Georgia. I ended up receiving Airman Maintenance Professional of the Year for 1992 for the 307th. I ended up getting out in November of 93'. Since then I have gone to college and received an AS in Aviation Maintenance Technology w/A&P, BS in Aviation Management, and finally an MBA. I currently work for Boeing St. Louis.
Current or Favourite assignment614th had the best bunch of maintainers in the USAF. The majority of them ended up in the 307th at Homestead, so we just continued the party in Florida. They are friends for life.DeploymentsDoha, Qatar Operation Desert Shield/Storm 90-91Maple Flag June 92' |
