9 years of work on F-16's did a number on my knees. I miss the jet, especially since I am surrounded by F-15 people now.
Current or Favourite assignmentAwesome people - awesome trips. Everywhere you go they say "Once a XXXX, always a XXXX," but this is the first place I was happy to be assigned.DeploymentsMarch - May 2002: OPERATION NORTHERN WATCH More fun than anyone should have in tent city. BBQ and drinks and cards all night.February - May 2007: Kadena AB/AEF 5 Not a 'real' AEF, but a good time all the same. Plenty of good stops on the way out and back. |

First jet I was assigned to. My supervisor, TSgt Phelps pulled me aside after roll call one morning and said "See that jet? That is yours. It is the next CANN jet." My response was "What's a CANN jet?" I found out soon enough.

First jet I was a DCC on. I was a little upset because it was a bus in a training squadron, but I was a DCC. This was when we were so short manned that as soon as you put on SrA you were made a DCC. The Air Force doesn't have that 'problem' anymore. I got my incenctive ride while assigned to this jet, but my ADCC had been assigned to the jet longer and was supposed to go up at the exact same time, so I let him take it.

This was my jet the entire time I was at Osan. It had an electrical fire in flight due to a short and spent about four months in Kunsan. It came back with a wolf on the tail.

I never got a ride in this jet, but I was getting ready to launch out the Wing Command Chief's wife for a ride and the whole family was in the HAS while I had to do a quick power on. I was sitting on top of the ladder and asked my B-man to turn on the -60. He turned on the power AND the bleed air. The hose (not connected) whipped around before it went straight. Luckily no one was hurt.

I was a Mainenance Training Instructor for three years. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I progressed from the lowest ranking person to the Section Chief. I learned a lot more than I thought I would there.
