I started Crewing F-16's at Hahn AB, West germany in Aug,1983 After attending FTD traing at Nellis AFB NV. I was at Hahn for 2 months when we went to Incirlik AB in Turkey TDY for around 31 days. Following that our Squadron went to Zaragosa AB, Spain TDY for around 31 days or so.
I was one of the First to be designated as a 43151F which is an afsc "F" for F-16's only. After about a year, I went on to Victor Alert and actually stayed at Victor alert working directly for the 50th TFW command there for 10 months (the one and only Crew Chief at the time to be allowed to stay longer than a 6 month tour there) I woked with GREAT people such as SMGT Roger Martin, Tsgt Ken Lattire, Ssgt Ramon Ross, A1c Doug Burmiester, Ssgt Jaime Allen and many other Great talented Crew chiefs and Pilots. If you know any of these people or myself please DO contact me as i would love to hear from anyone.
After my 2yrs were up at Hahn I went on to Homestead AFB in Homestead Florida as part of the Conversion Team. Converting a fully functional F-4 Phantom "Training Wing" Into a Fully Capable Tactical Fighter Wing, The 31st Tactical fighter wing. "
