Written off in a heavy landing accident at Korat AB. At approximately 14:30 hours local time the aircraft experienced a self-recovering engine stall which influenced the pilot to make an SFO landing. Although later investigation revealed that the engine was operating normally, the pilot did not wish to go around to correct a high sink rate and landed the aircraft short. The impact broke both main landing gear and bounced the aircraft to the far end of the runway, where it settled onto it's centerline tank. The aircraft departed the runway at the far end and slightly right of centerline, where the right hand horizontal tail struck the barrier net take-up reel and broke the aircraft at the FS462 bulkhead. Damage analysis revealed over 7 broken bulkheads and numerous other parts were damaged as well, prompting the RTAF to declare this aircraft a write-off.

The pilot, Lt. Wouter Rombouts, had to make an emergency landing at Solenzara, Corse. The problem occured after coming back from an air-to-air firing mission above the sea when he had a master caution and decided to land immediately. There seemed to be problems with the brakes. The procedure in this case is the landing with the arrestor hook. The pilot had only minor injuries. Wouter Rombouts is the same pilot that crash-landed its F-16 on December 9th, 2003 with its collegue Ronny Vaerten
