Indonesia scrambles F-16s to intercept US planes

Indonesia's air force went into high alert on thursday after its radar detected what it said were five U.S. F-18 jets flying in the country's airspace over the Java sea.
Captain Lubis, a Indonesia Air Force spokesman, said that two F-16 block 15OCU were deployed to intercept the U.S. Hornets which were maneuvering over Bawean Island off the eastern coast of Java island .

Belgian F-16s intercept two airliners in two days

Belgian F-16s from the Quick Reaction Alert in Klein Brogel scrambled two times in two days time to intercept a civilian aircraft. The first interception was on Friday June 20th when a Lebanese DC-8 on route to Ostend (Belgium) had not communicated with air traffic control (ATC) for a while. The F-16s which were already in the air for a training when the NATO command centre in Kalkar (Germany) asked the F-16s to get a visual check.

In order to respond to any Indian misadventure across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, F-16 multi-role fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) have been sent to Skardu deep in the Northern Areas of Pakistan and close to the ongoing battle between Kashmiri Mujahideen freedom fighters and Indian Army occupation forces in the Kargil sector as well as skirmishes between Pakistan Army troops and Indian Army troops on the LoC in the Drass-Kargil-Batalik sectors, PAF sources have disclosed to PIADS.
