An F-16A (#80545, Capt Andy Perona's jet) of the now disbanded 50th FW, 313th TFS from Hahn AB, Germany. [Photo by Martin Aguera]
I have yet to see a jet that belong\'s to a pilot! We just loan them the jet! It belong\'s to the Crew Chief!
Remember, if it turns rolls banks and blow\'s, thank a crew dawg!
I worked on this piece of junk so often for ADC lites. Spent 5 12 hour days in the ZAB zone (Zaragoza AB Spain)getting this to work right. Ended up being a Total Temp Probe. Sort of like a choke control for a jet at trans Mach.
This aircraft was in my flight when I was in the Blue Zoo, I remember a painted tail flash and the Hawk design on the tail...what is with this paint sceme? I was at Hahn (10th AMU) from June 1982 to 1983, then Maint Ops until July 1985 - my wife was in the 313th Lucky Puppies (Weapons Loader).
Damn, I remember Germany like I lived it yesterday...I sure loved it, the Exercises were very often as we all know but off duty made it all worth while....Salute all you fellow Blue Zoo'ers and Puppies...Salute!
