YF-16 and FSD Aircraft

USAF F-16B #50751 prepares for take off with a GBU-8 (also referred to as HOBOS) mounted on the right outboard wing pylon and an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile on the wingtip. A spin-control parachute container is attached to the aircraft's tail section when leaving Edwards AFB on October 13th, 1981.

    Note this FSD airplane has the larger horizonatl tail introduced on block 15. From looking at the shadows of the left wing there is no GBU-8 installed. This flight was apparently conducted to determine the effectiveness of the large tail for highly assymetric wing store loadings,
