In a brief ceremony today at Edwards Air Force Base in California, Pratt & Whitney celebrated the 30th anniversary of the delivery of the first production F100 engine.
The USAF awarded Pratt & Whitney a contract and options, with a value up to $74 million, to provide scheduled maintenance for U.S. Air Force F100 engines powering F-15 and F-16 fighter aircraft.
In a joint effort by Airmen from the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and Airmen from the Ohio ANG's 180th FW, the F-16 is currently undergoing a field service evaluation of biofuel.
