This Italian made patch represents the Netherlands and Belgium Air Forces which were part of the units deployed for Deliberate Guard. Operations started on 21 December 96 in support of SFOR replacing Operation Decisive Endeavour and ended 20 June 1998, This was replaced by Operation Deliberate Forge. The Deployable Air Task Force (DATF) agreement was signed on September 25, 1996 between the air forces of the Netherlands and Belgium and the Luxembourg Army. It emanated from the desire to save exploitation costs without decreasing military fighting power.
