Osan F-16s will temporarily move to Suwon Air Base

For the next two months, the F-16s will vanish from the skies over Osan as the Air Force shuts down its' base runway for spot repaving.
A $6.4 million budget is foreseen for spot repairs to the 9,000-foot runway, the widening of three taxiways and the installion of new lights and electric cables.
The project is scheduled from September 18th to November 18th. Two South Korean firms will do the repairs under contract to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
In the interim, Osan will move its F-16s and A-10s to Suwon Air Base, a South Korean air force installation between Osan and Seoul. The aircraft will return to Osan once the project wraps up.
